INVERCARGILL.

September 12

A man named Edwardßrown, aged 62 years, working near the New River ferry, disappeared on the 29th ultimo, and has not since been seen. A search was made but no trace was found. It is believed that be has fallen into the river.

Mr Muir's Edendale Hotel was burnt down on Sunday morning. JSTo particulars are to hand, but it is believed that nothing is saved. The insurances are £600 on the building and £100 on the stock and furniture in the Norwich Union office.
