At tlio sale of oats at the Spit yesterday by Messrs Monteith and Co., 570 sacks passed the hummer in parcels averaging 2a 10d per bushel. At N'essrs Monteith and Co.'s stile at the Horse Baza:w to-day 16 horses were sold, the demand for which is incrensing. Several vehicles, pairs of fowl?, and produce in variety, was knocked down at fair prices.

The bank rate of discount remains at 4 per cent., and the market rate at 3£. Adelaide wheat, px-store, remains at 563, nnd New Zealand, averaged quality, exstore, nt 555. Adelaide flour, ex-store, i 3 un* oh an god at 41s. Australian tallow, best beef 37s 6:1, and best mutton 395. Best Scotch pig iron, No. 1, free on board ex Clyde, is quoted at 48s 6d, an advance of 2s. Adet-ude, '•"epfember 8. "WhPfit is quoted to-day at 5s 3d to 5s 6d. The tone of the nmrket is unchanged.
