September 7. It is announced that the nomination of Hesperian for the Melbourne Cup was informal, and it has accordingly been cancelled. The ram Eclipse, owned by Mr Cummings, was sold at auction to-day for 430 guineas. September 8. At Msssre Goldsborough's sale yesterday of Mr Comming's sheep a total of £16,000 was realised for the stock offered.
