September C. The two first heats in tbe sculling races for the Walker whisky trophy, the prizes for which amount to £300, were rowed to-day on tbe Paramatta river, over a course between Gladesville wharf and the bathhouse at Ryde. In the first division the result was as follows : —W. Trickett, Sydney, 1 ; J J. Power, Twofold Bay, 2 ; J. C. Laycock, Sydney, 3. The second division resulted as follows : —Elias C. Laycock, Sydney, 1 ; E. Shepherd, West Maitland, 2. M'Donald, Clarence River, who was drawn for this heat, did nofc start.
