Wellington, August 6

After several hours spent yesterday in the final debate whether the Colonial Treasurer's motion that the Representation Bill ' be now read a third time,' should be carried, or- Mr Sheehan's amendment to insert the words 'this day six months,' the third reading was carried last night, tho division list showing Ayes 48, Noes 19. Taiaroa has had a dream. In the concluding part of his speech last night he said he dreamt concerning the Representation Bill that he plainly saw the Premier leading a long procession on his way to the Governor of the Colony, bearing in his hand the obnoxious bill. Following on the heels of this cortege was Sir George Grey heading a compact little band, with another Representation Bill, one that would be for the benefit of the colony, and saying with a loud voice, ( Look on this picture, and then on that.' Thore was tabled in the House yesterday a return showing the amounts paid to the different members of the Royal Commissions of last year and other expenses. The following aro the amounts : — West Coast Commission, Sir F. D. 8011, £84 4a 6d; Sir W. Fox, £175 16s lOd; Mr Mohi Tawhai, £17 4s ; joint expenses, £125 18s 7d ; total, £402 3s lid.—Education Commission, Mr J. McClark, £295 16s lid ; Mr D. Curtis, £324 4s ; Mr E. Pearce, £164 8s; Mr J. Reid, £213 6s; Mr E. G. J. Wright, £91 19s lid ; joint expenses, £747 4s 2d; total, £1836 18s Id.—Civil Service Commissioner, Mr A. Saunders, £82 12s lOd ; Sir R. Douglas, £129 16s 4d ; Mr T.
