NEW YORK.
September 3. Intelligence has been received from New Mexico of a terrible massacre by the Indians in that territory. A party of United States soldiers under General Carr wa* attacked in great force by the Indians, who completely overwhelmed their victims, and massacred the whole detachment. The total number of killed was 118, including General Carr and 117 officers and men.
