The steamer Oreti, Capt. Campbell, left For Gisborne nod Auckland at about 7 o'clock last evening. She is to load sheep and cattle at Gisborne for the Auckland market. _, The steamer Kiwi arrived here at 5 o'clock last night from Gisborne, with several passengers. 6: he having left that place tbe previous evening, and encountered a fierce S.S.W. gale almost the whole way. She resumed her passage for Wellington at 11 o'clock last night. The Union Company's p.s. Rotorua, J. Tozer mnster, left Auckland afc_ 10 o'clock yesterday morning, and will arrive here by davllgbt to-morrow morning. She is announced to sail again for the Hobart, and Melbourne, afc H a.m.
Tbe s.s. Fairy is expected to sail for Waikari to-night. The accident which openrred to the s.s. Sir "Onrnld vesterdnv whilst, towing out tbe schooner Frank Guy was caused by some small part of her engines giving way, which made the collision inevitable. The only damage sustained was the loss of her mizzen. Her engines were soon repaired, and she steamed inside at 7 o'clock Inst night. he Tnion Sfeam Ship Company's s.s; Rotomahana, from Melbourne, Hobart, and South, leaves Wellington this afternoon, and will arrive here to-morrow morning. She is to sail for Northern ports at 4 p.m. on Saturday, and will tranship the Sydney passengers and cargo to the s.s. Albion m Auckland. Tbe T?otamahana brings the inward portion of the Suez mail. At eleven o'clock last night when the flood tide was nt its strongest, the brigantine Linda Weber broker her bow moorings, and swung round against 'he s.s. Sir Donald. > t he was, however, quickly remoored without any damage having been sustained by either vessel.
