LONDON.
August 29. An official Gazette issued to-day contains tbe following amongst other announcements:—The Marquis of Tweedale and Lord Reay (Peers of Scotland) and Earl Howth (an Irish Peer) have been created Peers of Parliament, and will thus take seats in the House of Lords. Sir William Vernon Harcourt (Home Secretary), Sir Frederick Johnstone (M.P. for Weymouth), Sir D. C. Majoribanks (M.P. for Berwick), and Mr Lupton have been raised to the Peerage of the United Kingdom.
