The s.s. Go-Ahead, Captain P. Doile, arrived hero yesterday afternoon at 4 o'clock from Dunedin via "Timaru, Lyttelton, and Wellington, and was brought, inside shortly after arrival by the pilot, and berthed at the breastwork, where she discharged her cargo of imni> TO tons of general merchandise this morning. She reports having experienced a henvy nnrth-casferlv gale between Cape Paliser and Bare Island. Her advertised time of departure for Southern ports is 3 o'clock this afternoon. The ketch Venus, Capt. J. Anderson, was coming up the bay from Wairoa as our reporter left the Spit. The Union Company's s.s. Rotorua, Captain Tozer, is to leave Wellington this afternoon, and may be looked for here to-morrow forenoon. She is announced to sail for Northern ports at 4 o'clock on Saturday afternoon, r i lie first, wool ship of Messrs Shaw, SaviH find Company's line of vessels to load here this year will be tbe Al. iron ship Hermione, 1120 tons register, commanded by D. R, Roberts, now discharging in Wellington. She is expected to arrive here towards the latter end of next month, and will be consigned to Messrs Kinross and Co.
