a question was put to the President of the Board of Trade with the view of ascertaining the intentions of the Government with regard to the AngloFrench commercial treaties. Tn reply the Right Hon. J. Chamberlain stated tbat the negotiations between the French and British governments were only suspended for a time, and he trusted that tbe proposals which France was shortly expected to make would allow of their resumption at an early date.
