THE HOSPITAL.
[To the Editor of the Daiey Telegraph.] Bib,—As Mr Winter, in last Dight's paper, confesses that no accounts have been published, I am astonished that a person who ie in such a hurry to correct a misstatement should have been so long a member of the Hospital Committee and not have brought the matter forward. I would ask whose fault it is that no accounts have been published of the several thousand pounds that have been so freely subscribed ? Why have all the Hospital Committee doings been left in the shade? Are they afraid that the charge of mismanagement should be brought home to them ? I would ask them how come they to agree to an expenditure of £1500 as extras on the buildings, being nearly half the amount of tbe original contract. Subscribers need not be surprised that there has been no statements or accounts published, and also the secretary, having the foresight to see that funds required to keep the Hospital up at the same rate of expenditure are likely to fall short, has resigned. By inserting the above you will oblige An Enquirer. August 23, 1881.
