I have examined the Samfw? of M'Ewin's Rottlbd Alb submitted to me, and find that it contains - Alcohol by weight, 640 per cent; or by volumn, 655 per cent. Extractive matter, 308 per cent.; Acid matter, o'l7 per cent. I have also examined the Alb for such deleterious ingredients as are sometimes added to Beer, nnd have found no indication of their presence. The three first eonriitlons laid down by the Committee for Wines and Bbkks for the late International Exhibition, as those to which especial prominence would be piven, were—lst, Lott alcoholic per centals : 2nd, Freedom from acidity; 3rd ibsence of iusel oil; and all these ire fulfilled iv this Sample.
