Smyth The Company is projected for tho purpose of acquiring the well-known Theatre Royal, Napier, now and for the last three years successfully carried on by Messrs Swan and Ashton, who agree to sell to the Provisional Directors all the buildings and leasehold land, and it has been arranged that the new Company shall take over all the fixtures, &c, 13S part of the building. Messrs Swan and Ashton reserve to themselves the • right to take up shares to the value of £1000. They also guarantee the Shareholders 10 per cent, for tho first 12 months, and in addition undertake to carry on the management of the business for that period free of charge. The present Proprietors have an unexpired lease of 32 years at a ground rent of £100 per annum and the insurance premiums are the only expenses beyond fair wear and tear. The Theatre is in excellont order, having lately been thoroughly repainted and redecorated, and it is acknowledged by all Theatrical Companies to be one of the best appointed Theatres in New Zealand. The income will be derived by the letting of the Theatre, which is readily taken by Theatrical Companies, at the rate of £20 per week. The ordinary nightly rentals are from £4 10s to £6 10s. end being always paid in advance, is a protection against any loss by bad debts. The advantages of the public will be having the option of reletting to the various local bodies such as the Theatrical Clubs, Public Meetings, Volunteers, Gymnasium, &c, and for Balls and Skating Rink. The expenses are very small, ao the Store adjoining the.lheatre (part of the building) is let to Mr Prebble for £30 per annum, on the agreement that he acts as custediin, thereby saving any expense in keeping the Theatre clean. Applications will be considered in the order in which they are received. The Share List will close on the 31st August. Guaranteed by the State. \ LTHOUG-H this office has been in existence /or J\ a period of more than seven years, it is believed that the objects for which it was established are not sufficiently known or understood. It is desired to set forth in a concise form information respecting the business which this office undertakes: 1. The charge of all kinds of money trusts, such as Marriage Settlements, ironies to be Invested for the benefit of Minors, moneys bequeathed for charitable objects, monej s the title to which is in dispute, or whose legal owner is unknown or cannot be found, etc., etc. 2. The administration of the wills of persons who by appointing the PubHc Trustee as their executor secure the eruarantee of the State for the due fulfilment of their wishes, and avoid the risk 1 consequent on the appointment of private persons as executors, who not unfrequently, though earnestly desirous of acting for the benefit of the parties interested, fail to carry out legally the objects for which they were appointed, and consequently involve themselves and those whose interests they are striving to protect In costly and harrassing litigation. 3. The administration of all estates of which no disposition has been made by will, whenever relatives do not wish to incur the responsibility of administration, or cannot from any cause obtain the necessary powers to act. In such cases it is the duty of the Public Trustee to discharge all legal debts bo far as the assets extend, and divide : the residue amongst the next of kin. 4. The administration of the estates of lunatics, lunatic patients, and conviots. \ t 6. The charge of lands lying waste and unoccupied of which the owner is unknown, or who has been absent from the colony for ten years, having left no ■known agent.
