In the horse market we have to report an increased demand for good useful hacks and light harness horses. Prices we quote as follows : —Heavy draughts, £45 to £50 ; light and mndiura,' from £25 to £.35 ; superior hacks, £18 to £25 ; station hacks, £8 to £10 j weeds, nominal.

New Zealand securities arr> unchanged at last quotations; breadstuff market is experiencing firm and active demand ; Adelaide and New Zealand wheat has pnch risen 9s, and are to-day quoted as follows : — ArMnide whpat, ex-warehouse, 525; New Zealand wheat, ex-ship, 53s 6d ; Adelaide flour, ex-warehouse, quoted at 37s 6d; an arivnnce of 6d. 'Hip total qnantitv of wheat afloat for great Britain is 1,320,000 quarters. iistralian tallow, best heef, unchanged at 84s 6d ; best mutton has risen to 3s 6d. August 13. Consols 100f. New Zealand securities five per cent 10-40 loan, 10S ; five per cent 1889 loan, 104£ ; four and a half per cent 1889 loan, 10l|, ex-dividend. Tn wheat the market prices are rising. Owing to continued excessive rain throughout England, which 19 caiiemg injury to the crops, New Zealand and South .Australian breadstuff 3 are strong at yesterdays quotations. Australian tallow is firm at 34s 6d for best beef, 36s 6d for the best mutton.
