Mrs Sandel, a resident at East Newton, died suddenly on Saturday. She was observed by a child of one of the neighbors lying on the floor of her own house, with her head against a wall; and the strange position attracting the attention of the child it informed its' mother, who with some other neighbors, went to see what was the matter. They found Mrs Sandel unconscious and apparently dead ; but despatched a messenger for Dr. Hooper, who arrived soon afterwards and at once pronounced life extinct. Deceased has for a considerable number of years been subject to fits, and it is supposed that one of these was the immediate cause of death. Montgomery, formerly manager for Mrs Sceats of the British Hotel, has been arrested and charged with rape on Mrs Sceats , daughter, under twelve years old. The offence is said to have been committed last April. He was remanded. Marshall opened to a crowded house on Saturday.
