Einros* & Go M'EWAN'S CELEBRATED TNDIA "DALE ALE, "GLOBE" BRAND?" Me„bodrne, January 8. 1880. I have examined sample of M'Ewak's Edinburgh India Pa.c Alb submitted to me, and, as a sample of what can be done by a good, honest brewer, it is perfect. No foreign cheap bitter, such as Quassia—no Poisonous Drug 1 , such as Strychnine, Picric, Acid or Cocculus Indicus. Nothing but the Products of Pure Malt and Hops, brewed and fermented in a cool atmosphere, and bottled with care. Admirers of first-class British Beer may use this brand as at present offered for sale without disappointment. As a pure wholesome Bottled Ale it may be strongly recommended. WM. JOHNSON, Analytical Chemist to the Government of Victoria. Chemical Laboratory, School of Af.ts, Stdn-Y, May 13,1880. I have examined tho Sample of M'Ewin's Rottled Ale submitted to me, and find that it contains — Alcohol by weisrht, 5*40 per cent; or by volume, 6 - 55 per cent. Extractive ma< ter, 306 per cent.; Acid matter, o'l7 per cent. I have also examined the Ale for such deleterious ingredients as are sometimes added to Beer, and have found no indication of their presence. The three first condition? laid do : ,vr- by the Committee for Wines and Beefs for the late International Exhibition, as those to whioh especial prominence would be piven, were—lst, tow alcoholic, per centag-. : 2nd, Freedom from acidity; 3rd Absence of fusel oil; and all these ire fulfilled in this .ample.
