Will Sell by Auction at the Boer's Head Hotel, On Saturday, the Ist day of April next, afc noon (Greenwich Mean Time), The whole of the vast LANDED ESTATES Goods, Chattels and Effects of John Bxtll, Esq , Who is retiring from Business on account of advancing age and ill-health, induced by recent losses in his Transvaal Venture comprising three kingdoms (United or otherwise), ONE EMPIRE, ONE DOMINION, FORTY-EIGHT COLONIES AND ONE SUZERAINTY, Situate as undermentioned and containing upwards of 8,982,177 Square Miles (with a total Rent Roll of £174,775,000) of good Freehold and Leasehold Land, Government Offices, "Residencies, and Missionary Stations. Diamond, Gold, Silver, Coal, and other mines in full operation. One large Public House known as "Tho Lords And Commons." Also an extremely Elegant, Spacious, and Well-built Family Mansion, known as " Buckingham Palace," with Greenhouses, i Gardens, Stables, &0,, and every necessary appurtenant. The Residence contains ample Accommodation for a Family of I Position, is situate in its own grounds and I commands good views of tho Nelson Monument, St. Paul's Cathedral and Westminster Abbey, and is within easy distance of the thriving market towns of London and Westminster. Railway Communication to all Parts i close at hand. I The whole of the above extensive Properties, which are well Woodod and Watered, will be put up in one Lot, but if not thus Sold will be offered in the following Lots, viz:— • Lot 1. Great Britain. All those Freehold and Copyhold Estates, collectively known as tho British Colonies in Africa. This lot includes the Transvaal Farm, whicli is Leasehold, and fche Purchaser may have at any timo short notice to quit. Lot 8. Comprises the Whole of the British Colonies in America and the West Indies. The purchaser of this Lot will have the right of fishing over the waters of the Newfoundland Fishing Association and a Reversionary Interest in a large number of Bonds issued by the Peruvian Government. Lot 9. Comprises the whole of the British Colonies in Australasia. This lot abounds in mineral wealth and also offers special attractions to sheep-farmers and others. A portion of this property is of immense interest to historians as the scene of the early labours of Arthur Orton. Lot 10. All that choice assortment of War Ships, wooden, iron and plated, of fche newest patterns and designs ; as well as the Great Guns, Torpedoes, &c, all of the Vendor's own manufacture, for which he has long been so justly celebrated, and Marine Stores of every description. This lot is the Finest Collection of specimens of naval architecture in tbe world, and includes the fine old three-decker " The Victory," which, although depreciated by the radical tendencies of the age, is still an object of respectful veneration to all admirers of the brilliant history of the present owner's family.

Lot 11. All that Choice Assortment of Warlike Implements not included in the last Lot; comprising Rifles (both breech and muzzle loading), Swords, Bayonets and other Accoutrements, Heliographs, Field Telegraphs, Rocket and other Apparatus, used by the British Army before its annihilation. Note.' —Ifc will bo observed that as the Vendor is disposing of tho whole of his real estate, fche property comprised in the last two Lots, hitherto used in defence of the same, will be of no further use to him.

Lot 12. Suez Canal. A large number of Shares in this profitable speculation recently purchased under exceptionally advantageous circumstances, and now greatly enhanced in value.

Lot 13. All those fine Antiquo and Modern Robes and Jewels, including tho Heirlooms which have been in the family of the vendor for many centuries. Comprising—Unique Crowns, Magnificent Sceptres, Gorgeous Insignia, unrivalled Stars and Orders, matchless Gems (including fche world-famed Koh-i-noor) and a quaint, old Throne of British Oak, which, although it has braved a thousand years, is still convertible into a variety of useful family articles. Note. —This last lot, to which the attention of theatrical managers, actors, &c, is particularly directed, will, if necessary, be divided into small parcels to suit the convenience of purchasers,

Lot 11. A job lot of miscellaneous articles, including tho Trafalgar Squuro Lions, tho Wellington Sarcophagus, and the whole of the Historical Monumonts in Westminster Abbey and St. Paul's Cathedral, the old Armour and Beef-eaters in the Tower, a number of antiquated Ambassadors, as well as a largo lot of minor articles too numerous to particularize. Note. —It was intended to include in this sale the endowments and other income of the Church of England, but these will now be disposed of by private contract.

Tho Auctioneer mindful of the success which attended his labours on a previous occasion, when it was his privilege to offer for sale the Irish Ecclesiastical Property of the Vendor, confidently places himself in the hands of the public, feeling sure that a handsome competency to solace the declining years of his employer will be tho result of his efforts, especially as the whole of the above" will be sold without reserve.
