July 28. Telegrams bave been received from Candahar announcing that a battle was fought yesterday between the forces of Aynub Khan and those of tbe Ameer, resulting in tbe the defeat of the latter. One of the Ameer's regiments deserted and joined Ayoub Khan, and the rest of Abdur Rahman's force fled after losing all their guns and baggage. Later. Further telegrams from Afghanistan report that the battle between Ayoub's and the Ameer's troops was fought at Karezeiatta (Karez Illaija), a short distance south of Candahar. Since their defeat all the Ameer's cavalry have joined Ayoub Khan, whose force has been natural'y strengthened. The Ameer's garrison in the city of Candahar is reported to be very weak, and unable to offer any strong resistance to Ayoub,
