ANNUAL MEETING OF PARISHONERS, ST. PETER'S WAIPAWA.
Present: Rev. J. C. Eceles in the chair and about twenty parishioners. The meeting opened with prayer, which was followed by the secretary (Mr R. B. Smith) reading the financial statement, showing expenditure £298 15s, y and income £299 7s 8d; balance 12a Bd. It was proposed by Mr Collett, seconded by Mr Bickerton, that the statement be passed as read. Carried. The Chairman then, in a few flattering remarks, referred to his late churchwarden Mr Collett's energy and zeal since filling that position, a term of six years, and stated that as he (Mr Collett) wished to resign be would propose as his successor Mr W. White. i After several gentlemen had beeor~ asked to officiate as people's churchwarden, and severally declined, Mr Couper proposed, and Mr Potts seconded, that Mr J. M. Fraser fill that position. Carried. The following were then elected eg vestrymen;— Messrs Bibby, Rathbo*e f
Carson, Weaver, Hobson, W. Williams (Te Aute), and J. J. Buchanan (Hampden). After cordial votes of thanks had been passed to Miss Porter for working so energetically on behalf of the choir and Sunday School, and to the retiring officers, chairman, and auditors (Messrs Wilson and Arrow), the meeting closed with the benediction.
