H.M.S. Bacchante having completed her repairs sailed to-day for Sydney to join the squadron.

Mauritius advices announcing that the engagements of sugar for the colonies are as follows : —For Adelaide, 200 tons ; Melbourne, 850; Sydney, 350. The present season's crop is estimated to yield 125,000 tons. The growth of the cane is, however, reported as slow.
