fJTo the Editor of the Daily Telegraph.] Sir,—From "On Looker's " remarks I am inclined to think he is one of the many who admire the players who stand outside the scrimmages, and are afraid of rough handling. I cannot think he is a player himself, or else he would know that a back player cannot play for any one except himself, as he has no one to assist him. As to his general remarks about players he has never seen in the field, I think that old members of the club are sufficient judges of their play to entitle them to a place in the Waipawa team. By inserting the above you will oblige One of the Ciiosen. July 23, 1881.
