WOODVILLE ROAD BOARD.
The annual meeting of the above Board was held in the schoolroom on Saturday, July 16th, at 2 p.m. The chairman for the past year read the accounts and balance-sheet as follows :— Dr. £ s d To Balance in Bank and Cash in hand 42 12 2 Subsidy 7s 6d in the £ ... 74 5 0 Grant Puketoi block ... ... 54 15 8 Rates collected ... ... 137 15 0 £309 7 10 Cr. £ s d By contracts and labor 256 17 4 „ Salai'y and expenses ... 26 4 6 „ Exchange on cheques ... 0 2 0 j, Telegrams and stamps ... 2 12 1 „ Balance in bank 20 2 5 „ Cash in hand 3 9 6 309 7 10 Special works expenditure Victoria Special Settlement ... 56 15 5 Woodville Special Settlement 77 9 2 Puketoi block 49 10 0 Rural 48 1 9 Miscellaneous works 6 4 6 £232 1 10 Mr Fountain was elected chairman of the meeting, and read the advertisement calling the ratepayers together for the purpose of electing a new board for the ensuing year. The following ratepayers were then duly elected by ballot : — Messrs F. F. Fountain, D. Hughes, T. Moore, J. Dickens, and H. Thomas. At a meeting of the new Board Mr Fountain was elected chairman, aud it was decided to strike a rate of 9d in the £ for the coming year. Messrs Crawford aud Monteith were appointed auditors.
