LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL.
Wednesday. The Council met at 2.30. QUESTIONS. Replying to questions, it was stated that in filling up Civil Service vacancies the Government gave the preference to those who have suffered by the reductions ; it was not likely that tho telegraph lino would be extended to Eortrose, the necessity nofc justifying the expense.
The Council rose at 3.20.
