RACING IN WANGANUI.

Wanganui, Ju'y 14,

The Wanganui spring meeting has been fixed for October 21st, and permanently on the Friday before the fourth Monday in October. The programme is the same as last year, tbe stakes amounting to £340, the principal being the Handicap of £150. The nominations are to be made on the 23rd September.

The dates for the autumn meeting are fixed for the second Thursday and Friday in March, 1882. The details of the programme are held over for a fortnight but it is expected they will bethe same as last year. The annual meeting of the Jockey Club was held last night. The balancesheet showed the receipts to be £3,615, and the expenditure £3,621, consisting ot stakes £2,747, charges £378, improvements £357, and sundries £137. Over £3,300 bas been spent iv improvements during the last three years. ' The assets of the club show £2,734 over the liabilities. There was a very large attendance of members at the meeting.
