Parliament reassemble to-day after the adjournment. At the sitting in the Legislative Assembly there were only two members on the Government benches behind the new Ministers. The rest of the House was made up of members of the Opposition and Corner party. No business was transacted, and the House adjourned to the 28th instant to give time for the Ministerial re-elections.
In consequence of the increase of small-pox in Sydney, the Victorian Government is considering the advisability of taking further precautions to guard against the introduction of the disease into this colony
July 13. In reply to a deputation which waited upon him yesterday, Mr Grabes, the new Minister of Trade and Customs, promised to consult the Cabinet with a view to the reseession of the regulation whereby New Zealand barley is imported into Victoria free when intended for malting purposes previous to reexportation.
