LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL.
Tuesday. The Council met at 2.30 p.m. QUESTION. Replying to Colonel Brett, Mr Whitaker said the evidence in the recent case of a boy being shot in a shooting gallery at the Thames fully justified the verdict of accidental death. EAILWAY MANAGEMENT. Mr Robinson moved that in the opinion of the Council fares and freights on the railways should, as far as practicable without entailing loss, be so adjusted as to •nable the lines to compete with outside carrying companies.—Agreed to.
