LONDON.

June 27. At the wool austion to-day 6,500 bales were offered. A firm demand was again experienced. Two South Australian loans of £980,000 and £90,000, bearing interest at four per cent., were carried to-day. The minimum price for both is fixed at £102 June 28. The consideration of the Irish Land Bill in committee of the whole was resumed in the House of Commons last evening. After further debate lasting through the whole sitting the fourth clause of the measure was passed without amendment, and progress was reported. It is announced officially that the Right Hon. W. E. Grant Duff, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies, has been appointed Governor of the Madras Presidency, vice the Hon. E. W. Adam, deceased.
