At the wool sale to-day 5900 bales were catalogued. A firm demand was agdn experienced. In the House of Commons to-day the Right Hon. W. E. Gladstone in reply to a question, confirmed the announcement made by the Daily News on the 17th instant, that representations had been made to tbe United States government

on the subject of the operations of tbe Fenians in England and America. June 21.

In the House of Commons to-night the third clause of the Irish Land Bill was, after further debate, passed in committee. The Government is now meeting the views of the opponents of the measure in a conciliatory spiiit, in order to facilitate its passage.
