Messrs Monteith and Co. report:—At our weekly sale at the Horse Bazaar on Saturday 22 head of various sorts were catalogued. We quote superior heavy draught £50 to £60 ; medium do, £28 to £35 ; light do, £20 ; light harness, £14 to £20; useful hacks, £8 to £12; weeds, nominal. Produce. —Oats, 3s to 3s 3d ; wheat (good milling), 4s 6d ; barley, 3s 3d ; maize, 3s 6d ; bran, £i 5s per ton ; pollard, £6 10s ; flour, provincial, £11 10s ; potatoes, 503 per ton ; hay, £3 to £4 ; chaff, £4 to £5 ; hams and bacon (provincial cured), 9d per lb; do, Canterbury, 9£d to 10id per lb. (by cable.) London, June 17. Consols are unchanged at 100f. The New Zealand five per cent 10-40 loan is quoted at 105, the New Zealand five per cent. 1889 loan at 105, and the New Zealand fou«' and a half per cent 1879-1904 loan at 103. The bank rate of discount is 2\ per cent, and the market rate If. Adelaide wheat, ex-warehouse, 48s 6d j New Zealand wheat 45s 6d ; Adelaide flour, ex-warehouse, 345. Australian tallow, best beef 34s 6d, and best mutton 36s 6d. Best Sydney copra has declined to £13 6a.
June 18. The total quantity of wheat afloat for Great Britain is 1,990,000 quarters. Best Scotch pig iron, No. 1, free on board in Clyde, has declined to 47s 6d.
