SOUTH AUSTRALIA.
The Government has given notice in the Assembly of the introduction of a bill to restrict Chinese immigration. The rush to Bridge Creek is turning out splendidly, and it promises to be a permanent field. Sixty thousand tons of breadstuff's were exported during the five months of the present year. The greater portion was sent to England, and a quantity wa? sunt to Victoria. Mr Fowler, the late Treasurer, has been offered a banquet by his friends, but he declined the honour. The City Council intend petitioning the Legislative against the provisions in tho bill for the extension of the Adelaide suburban tramway, by which the trains will be drawn by noiseless engines. The Corporation also ask for power to licence tram dnvers.
