June 14. At the wool sale to-day 9700 bales were offered. A firm demand was again experienced. June 15. Tenders for the Otago harbor works loan of £100,000 were opened to-day. The total amount offered was found to be £200,000, and tenders at £105 Is and upwards will receive allotment in full. In the House of Commons to-day a motion re-affirming the principle of local option in connection with the licensing laws was, after a leDgthy debate, carried on a division by a majority of 42.
