The vital statistics for the past month are—Berths 23, deaths 10, and marriages 3. A boy named Evans, nine years of age, the son of a settler has been missing since Tuesday evening last. Pie had played the truant during tho day, aad on his return home was sent to bed by his mother, who, when his father came home at night asked him to chastise the boy. His father went outside to obtain a switch wherewith to beat the lad, and in his absence the bey slipped outside and has not been seen since. He had on only his nightshirt at the time, and as the night was dark aud raining, fears are entertained as to his safety. Search parties were out yesterday, but without any result.
Sergeant Felton having declined to give up the stock-in-trade of the man Goldberg, arrested for swindling on the course at the steeplechase meeting laat Friday, the latter has laid an information against him for illegal detention of property. The case will be heard tomorrow.
