LONDON. May 31. In the House of Commons to-day the Irish Land Bill came up for considertion in committee of the whole. On the first clause being moved a long and animated debate ensued, and it still continues. Up to the present time 1500 amendments to the various clauses of the measure have been entered on the order paper, and notice continues to be given of fresh amendments.
At the wool sale to-day 8400 bales were offered, making a total of 168,000 eatatogued since the opening. A good demand was experienced for the various lots offered.
