AUCKLAND.
May 28. Captain Wright formerly American consul at the Bay of Islands, suicided on February 19th at the Marshall Islands by shooting himself in the temple with a revolver. He has been in good health and spirits, and spoke cheerfully of going home to America.
The barque Hawau, a labour vessel belonging to the Hawaian Government, has been wrecked at Tarawa, in the Kingsmill Group. No lives were last. Andrew Dilwortb, a settler residing at Waitakerei, by a throw from bis horse had his nose completely smashed by the penetration of a stake. Haselmayer's satchel, containing £20 and jewellery, which was taken from the Theatre Royal last night, waß recovered by the police an hour or two afterwards from a woman who was at the theatre, and who said that, observing tbe satchel left without any apparent owner, she took it to keep till it was claimed.
