PARIS.
May 21. The French Government has resolved to uphold the Bey in possession of the Tunisian throne against the edict which has been issued by the Porte for deposing him. Dispatches received by the Government from the commander of the French forces in Tunis state that the opposition of the native tribes to the advance of the French troops has been entirely overcome, the Arabs having been everywhere repulsed. Beja and Mater have been captured, and occupied.
