The insurances on the late fire at Ashburton were as follows:—Central Temperance Hotel: £300 in the Standard and £300 in the South British ; on the furniture by a mortgage, £200 in the Union. On the coach factory: £250 in the South British. The stock, &c, were uninsured ; those were valued at £2000, and about £500 worth was saved.
