ARRIVALS,
May 16r-Arawata, s.s., from Southern ports and "to •" Melbourne. Passenger-Miss Gleeson, Eev. Ludorie, Captain'Frazer, Mei&rs Kells, A. S. Birch, George Tylee, Bell, Gregory, Scully, Broadburst, Martin, Fngel, Campbell, and tho Juvenile Pinafore troupe. '*-
The Union Company's s.s. Arawatu, Captain Sinclair, arrived in the Bay 7 o'clock this morning from Melbourne via Southern ports. The following is the report of her passage, for which we thank her purser, Mr D. Dalgleish :—Left Melbourne on the 4th at 230 p.m., and arrived ot Hobarfc on the 6th at fi a.m. ; leftHobart =ame day at 4 30 p.m.. and arrived at the Bluff on the 10th at 7 a.m.; left same day at 4 p.m., and arrived at Port Chalmers on the Ilth at 7.30 a.m.; left ag'iin on the 12th at 8 p.m., and arrived at Lyttelton on rite 13th at 12 30 p m ; left Lyttelton on the 13th at 11. p.m.,and arrived at Wellington on tbe 14th at 2 p.m.; lcftagain on the 15th at noon, and arrived as above. Experienced tltick weather from Melbourne to Port Chalmers, and variable winds on the coast.
Her inward cargo was transhipped to the letch Admiral, and the s.s Bella took off the 200 fat sheep for the Auckland market. The advertised time for tbe launch to leave the wharf with outward passengers is 4 p.m. this day. The departures of the s.s. "Result for Wairoa, and cutter < 'lara for Mohaka, are still indefinitely postponed on account of the southerly weather.
The steamer Kiwi, Capt. Jas. Campbell, leaves Wellington to-night, and may be looked for here on Wednesday. She will veturn to Wellington tbe same evening.
