The annual report of the Westland Education Board has been circulated, furnishing the following information : — At the end of the year 1880 there were 34 schools under the Board, employing 86 teachers. The salaries paid to teachers averaged £85 per annum, or about 32s per week. Tbe highest was £165, and the lowest £36 10s per annum. The receipts of the Board during the past year are shown to have been £17,216 ; the expenditure £18,329.
