MR SIDEY AND THE TARARUA DISASTER.
[To the Editor of the Daily Telkgeaph.] Sir,—lt is not my purpose to undertake the very superfluous task of pointing out the most extraordinary—and I bad almost said wilful misrepresentation of what I expressed on Sabbath morning by your correspondent " A.8." I merely write to ask your correspondent "as a Christian and a believer in the overruling Province of God "—who believes, apparently, that there is such a difference between the old and new worlds, that different conceptions of the government of God follow as a consequence—■ to explain, for the information of Christiana and believers in Providence, and deists and atheists, how, on this new world theory, " God is love," and yet, in our elegant and most philosophic language, launched nearly one hundred souls into eternity, and propably plunged four times as many living persons into mourning. Waiting the reply,—l am, &c, David Sidet. Napier, May 10, 1881.
