NOTICE OE OONSTRTJOTiBTQ- A' ROAD IN THE NOESEWOOD SUEVEY DISTEIGT.'NOTrOB is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions > of "The Public Works Act, 1876 " to execute a certain public work, to wit, the construction ol a road lying , between the seventyfO'i'! , - '-Ale-peg on the WelHiisrton-Napier Eallway and the fceventy-Mile Bush Road, twelve miles from KopuH, in the Norsewood Survey District, in the C'uncy of Waipawa, and for the purposes of such Eublic the land described in the Schedule ereto is required to be taken ; and notice is further given that the plan of the said road, "and of the land bo required to be taken; is deposited in the Public Works Offices at Eopua, in the Takapau Burvey District, and is there open for inspection : And notice is hereby given that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land shall, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and Bend such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister for Public Works, Wellington. SCHEDULE. All that piece and parcel of land containing by admeasurement 4 acres 1 rood 10J perches more or less, situate in the Survey District of -Norsewood, Block X., Waipawa County, Deing portion of Manawatu No. 3, Tβ Chu Block, commencing at the northernmost point on the Seventy-Mile Bush Road at llatirnau. Bounded— Gonerally southerly and easterly by lines, 615.-259, and 3492J links respectively: westerly by Railway Reserve,-102 links; generally northerly and weeterly by lines, 3451J, 218, and 594 links respectively; north-easterly by Seventy-Mile Bush Road, 100 links to the commencing point. In Block V the ground Is undulating, the soil light, and covered with forest chiefly red and white pine.. Block VI is of a similar character, except that there are small quantities of totara. mixed with other bush. Sections 1 and 2, Block X, are good soil, but hilly. The bush ie suitable for mills, and owina: to facilities of communication by railway the trade in timber is increasing. MAKARETU.
