■The city of Dublin has been proclaimed a disturbed district by the Viceroy of Ireland under the powers vested in him by the Coercion Act. It is understood that several important arrests of leading agitators will at once be made in: Dublin. .'; .
Mr Gladstone has stated that the demands of the Catholic hierarchy in Ireland for material alterations in the Irish Land Bill cannot be acceded to by the Government. The amendments asked, for are considered inadmissable.
