VICTORIA.
At an interview between Sir Henry Parkes and Mr Berry it was resolved that simultaneous action should be taken with regard to the measures adopted by the Conference. One of the first will be the Anti-Chinese Bill. Sir H. Parkes recently telegraphed to Hong! Kong ; to ascertain if the immigration was likely to continue or not, and if the reply had not been reassuring the New South Wales Parliament would have been called together at once to deal with the question. A seizure was made yesterday night by the Customs of the-steamer India. It has
been ascertained that she is identical with the missing steamer Ferret, chartered but not paid for at Glasgow fhlßßo. For some time suspicions were aroused, as none of the crew were allowed to go ashore, and the fires were kept up ready to get up steam at any time. On boarding her it was found that tbe name of the vessel had been removed from the hull. All the ship's books had been mutilated, and the registered number banmered out from the main hatch combings. It is known that the vessel left Cardiff with a fresh crew and put into a Spanish port. She also stayed two months at the Bermudas. There was no resistance when she was taken possession of, and now lies against the Cerberus.
