BRISBANE.

April 23. The steamer Brisbane hzs arrived at Cooktown from Hong Kong with 350 Chinese. One is suffering from smallpox, and the vessel therefore has been quarantined. Mr Mcllraith, the Premier, telegraphs from London that he has come to an agreement for a company to carry out the transcontinental railway scheme, subject to the surveys confirming the representations which have been made. A surveying expedition will leave London for Queensland in the middle of May.
