The National Bank has received advices that the balance of the endowment loan of the city of Auckland was sold in London at 112." A few years ago the bonds were sold in Auckland for £90.
Mr Clark, the Mayor, has sent to England for £250 worth of books for the free public library, absorbing the whole of his honorarium, although he had previously given the first two cheques he received, amounting to £50, to public charities. The police brought four cases against publicans to-day for breaches of the licensing laws. The cases are proceeding.
