(FROM OUR OWN COBBESI'ONDENT.) April G, 188 L The sub-enumerator for this portion of the County called to-day for my census paper. After he bad pointed out a number of mistakes in it, he said he had a hand-bill to give me. The whole thing then dawned on me at onee — this is what is called amalgamation of offices, census collector and government toot. Oh dear, how I should like to be a tout. The upshot of all these adjournments means, in my opinion, that before long an actually resident magistrate will be appointed for this district.
