April 5. In the Legislative Council to-night a notice of motion was given for the appointment of a select committee on the Reform Bill. The debate on the motion is fixed for to-morrow. Mr Sergeant, M.L.A., has been sentenced to two months' imprisonment for his assault upon Mr Munro. April 6. The frozen fish from England by the Lusitania has arrived in excellent condition. Tbe following further Exhibition awards to New Zealand exhibitors are announced : —For white pepper, first order of merit, Gregg and Co., Dunedin, David Starge, Invercargill, and Trent Brothers, Christchurch. The same exhibitors take second orders of merit for other exhibits of the same and Trent Brothers, of Christchurch, take an additional third order of merit.
