April 5

The agent of the Pacific Mail Company has received a cablegram announcing that the City of New York arrived at San Francisco on the 4th.

The German warship 3 More and Habicht have arrived here to relieve the Nautilus and Hysene on the Pacific station.

In the Supreme Oourt to-day James Dillon, for obtaining money under false pretences, was sentenced to one year's imprisonment. Thomas Walsh, an old offender, was sentenced to three years' for stealing from a bushman.

DeLias's dramatic company, to support Mr Garden, left Sydney for Dunedin in in the Wakatipu to-day.
