The Daily Telegraph SATURDAY, APRIL 2, 1881.

At the Hospital Committee meeting yesterday afternoon, after some discussion, it was resolved to hold an enquiry into the circurastances connected with Mr E. Price's complaint. It will be remembered that Mrs E. Price took a young woman in her employment to the hospital whose admission was refused on the ground that cases of confinement were barred by tbe rules. We do not think anything will come of the forthcoming enquiry ; the complaint was of a nature that should have been dealt with promptly. As it is now the girl has pone to her friends in the Seventy-mile Bush; the circumstances surrounding the case have lost their freshness, and to hold an enquiry in a fortnight's tune seems like tipping up a partially healed sore. In the meantime Mr E. Price has done a public service by causing an agitation that has led to the fitting up an apartment where women can be properly treated. It was a scaDdal to the town that, after tbe old hospital done away with, there was no institution for lyingin cases. This want has been partially supplied by a room in the Refuge being set apart for the purpose, but without the fuss that was made over Mr Price's servant girl nothing would have been done. We notice that the enquiry is fixed to take place on Good Friday, probably on the principle that " the better the day the better the deed." No doubt the choice of the day was an oversight, but we should have thought from the composition of the Committee that no such mistake could have been possible.
