CHRISTCHURCH.

April 2,

Bishop Redwood arrived last night by express train from Timaru. His Lordship was received by a large party, and driven to the Catholic Church, when addresses from the clergy and laity were read, 1600 persons being present. The Bishop replied at considerable length, giving particulars of his visit to Rome, and of his audience with the Pope.

Heavy rain fell last night, which was much required by the farmers. The weather is now clearing up.
