THE HOSPITAL COMMITTEE MEETING.
[To the Editor of the Daily Teleoeaph.] Sir, —An error of some moment occurs in the Herald's report of the above, vi«., that bye-law two that I desired to get repealed precluded the admission of infectious cases into the Hospital. This is precisely what it should, but does not, do. The bye-laws, whilst excluding a large number of cases are most satisfactorily treated in an hospital, permit the introduction of scarlatina, typhus, small-pox, and other cases which should be most carefully excluded from the wards of a general hospital. It is to be regretted that a tuller report was not inserted, that the subscribers might judge for themselves of the worth or otherwise of the arguments adduced on either side. For the purpose of laying the matter fully before the public I will write you a longer letter on the suject for a future issue.—l am, «c,
F. Irving de Lislb. Napier, April 2, 1881.
